In line with the strategy of independent inclusion of disabled people in society, which is the basis of Accessible Tourism, it is aimed to ensure that disabled individuals have access to all facilities and city facilities in the process of participating in social life by holidaying freely with respectful and equal treatment. This goal will only be possible if accessibility and accessibility studies are carried out correctly, which will allow local and foreign tourists to spend their holidays without any problems.
With the above-mentioned goal, Alanya was selected as a pilot city to be implemented throughout Turkey, and Turkey's first Accessible Tourism City Project has been implemented by the Republic of Turkey since 2010. It is carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Disabled and Elderly Services of the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, Alanya Municipality, Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Alanya Touristic Operators Association.
With the 'Accessible Tourism City Alanya Project Cooperation Protocol' signed on 02.12.2011, in the urban settlement area of Alanya District; It is aimed to provide the necessary technical, institutional, national and international promotion, marketing and financial cooperation to ensure accessibility for everyone and to prepare and implement projects aimed at developing Accessible Tourism.
